How to create a very simple discussion board?

Hi,

I hope this is the right place where to ask. I’d like to create a very simple discussion board like in this site http://www.iphoneart.com/studio_talks.

I don’t need categories, just one page with all the new posts scrolling. A button for the new discussion and a search box, and eventually a box for subscribing to new posts by email. What should I choose for that?

I’m not an expert at all, so I don’t know if I should use a plugin for that or upload the discussion board in a new database, but a part for that, I don’t know which kind of software or plugin does that. Any idea?

There are various plugins – a few (search on the plugins page will find them)

bbPress
Mingle forums
Vanilla forums

Or possibly look at the P2 theme.

Hi WPyogi,

I think I cannot use the P2 theme because it has to be integrated in a new page on a current blog I manage already. I know there are those forums you mentioned but I have always seen examples of forum with categories and I don’t know if I can create what I need with the plugins you mentioned. All of them explain about big forums but I need just a single discussion board in a single page as I mentioned before.

Is it possible to create what I need with any of them you mentioned?
