   I just put up a new blog in 2.62 (I think up to now I've used 2.5). The Writing Settings page no longer has the section where you can set up a static front page.

   How can I do this?

   The static front page option is under Settings - Reading (not Writing).

   Please note that you won't be given the option for a static page unless you have at least one page written.

   ah, thanks. I was looking in the right place (Reading Settings) but hadn't published any pages yet.

   Cool. There aren't a lot of Edies around.
