[resolved] How to create a list of posts? (3 posts)

I'd like to generate a list of all of my posts - just titles and dates, and possibly what categories they're in. This is for my own reference, so it can be a temporary or permanent fix, and either displayed or not. (I wish there were a "reports" feature in the admin panel that would allow for printing of a list.)

I found this thread that helps somewhat, but what I still can't figure out is: how do you force the blog to use that template? I have a template (that I can switch to temporarily) that uses a list of all posts for archive.php, but I can't figure out how to call archive.php so that it will display anywhere.

I'm probably just thinking about it so hard that I'm jumbling up my brain and missing something obvious...but I'm still missing it.

make a new page named whatever you want.

On the page editor, over in the right colum you have an option to assign a template to the new page.
