[resolved] [closed] How to completely remove responsive functionality from Responsive theme? (19 posts)

    I was wondering is it possible to remove completely responsive functionality from your theme. The condition is, I used Responsive theme for my non-responsive project. The things I do were deleting all 3 js files in folder js, deleting classes indicating grid col in the template, deleting responsive syntax in header template (so it won't change to combobox when resized), and defining min-width to 960px to body selector.

    It works beautifully when viewed in desktop. But when i open it in mobile browser, there's something like "half-responsive" thing still exist. Other common full non-responsive site usually opened in "preview state", zoomed out but the content remains exactly same as if opened in desktop. So we just double click to zoom in and see same desktop size.

    Mine, when opened in mobile browser, it went automatically "zoomed-in" to 960px width and horrible layout change in several section.

    So how to making it fully non-responsive?

    *sorry if my English so bad you didn't catch what I say.

    Thank you

    Hi,

    When you remove Responsive Grids your job is almost complete. What's probably still in are "Responsive" images. Take a look at

    img {}

    Out of the curiosity, why did you decide to go with Responsive when you don't need it?

    Anyways, thanks for using Responsive Theme!

    Thanks,
    Emil

    Okay, I'll take a look of that section.

    Because I used Responsive for my first project and become used with all the system. So I use Responsive for all of my projects. Actually I do lot of hard-code and modification to achieve custom look. I feel your theme is not very "complex" so I can do modification easily rather than using other template. Plus why I use wordpress theme is for gaining SEO benefit from the WP and the plugin itself.

    Great theme!

    Absolutely, that was the goal, simple and easy to customize. If you have more questions please let me know and I also invite you to our dedicated forum too.

    Thanks,

    Hi Emil.

    The suggestion given in the previous post didn't worked.

    I have example, this one is non-responsive http://bit.ly/LxV4hJ

    And this is the web I created http://bit.ly/Qp5T4x

    I attached screenshot from both of them when just opened from mobile browser. The pure non-responsive ones is in "preview" mode while mine is not. I want behaviour like the pure non-responsive. Could you give me solution?

    I'm sorry for using 4share as I didn't find file hosting service in this comment form http://www.4shared.com/rar/kvQlrVvq/screenshot.html

    Thanks Emil

    Hi,

    This http://salution.co.id/ looks completely "unresponsive" from my end, can you please specify what's not?

    Did you see screenshot I attached?

    Sure http://bit.ly/Qp5T4x is unresponsive. But take a look when it opened from mobile browser (mine is SE with GingerBread). It looks unresponsively awkward.. but the http://bit.ly/LxV4hJ looks so normal.

    Bit.ly links above point to the same site. Yes I actually did and this is what comes "back" http://themeid.com/responsive/?http://salution.co.id/ when "Responsiveness" is removed that's pretty much what you'll get.

    #banner-image {}

    is using an absolute position, that would be the reason why it stays where it is and doesn't move.

    This isn't an "issue" with "Responsiveness" any more because that was taken down.

    One thing left is:

    <meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, user-scalable=no, initial-scale=1.0, minimum-scale=1.0, maximum-scale=1.0">

    ups, sorry for wrong link, edited my previous post above.

    you have testing environment there, eh.
    Again, skip the banner image problem, i don't double check-in that when I change imaging mindset to using css sprites. That banner image just left behind and not tested yet (thx for reminding me :D )

    Actually, your testing environment and my mobile browser act differently. I don't know if this is specific device problem but in your testing environment things looks more "normal". Instead of that banner image problem, It looks so normal..

    I must delete that part?

    There it is!

    That's the solution. Everything's looks so "normally unresponsive" now when opened from mobile browser.

    Thank you so much Mr. Emil.

    +1 rate for Responsive again :D

    Oh, I don't mind if you include the design.

    Actually this is just landing page design for showcase purpose only. Next project it will converted to full version, maybe the design change a lot. But i will make it responsive and of course, I will use Responsive again :D

    Hi emil.
    What exactly do we need to do to remove the responsiveness of the theme?

    Or is there a way to remove the responsiveness for just one template? Say the landing page template?

    Sorry, this conversation ended a long time ago.

    If you've a query regarding the Responsive theme then the theme's developers request that you post on their forums.
