• Hi,
I’m quite new to wordpress and have spent the past couple days trying to create a website. So my problem comes from searching in google. When I search for the website, it comes up on google, however instead of the name of my website the link reads:
“My Blog: Just another wordpress site.”

I’ve tried going into the settings on dashboard to change this but it hasn’t affected the actual link.

Any thoughts or suggestions on how I can change the link so it says my website name?

    Thanks!

  • Can you provide a link to your site please?

Also, how long ago did you launch your site?

You might want to install the WordPress SEO plugin and submit a google XML sitemap (it’s all built-into that one plugin (http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wordpress-seo/)

sorry for the rudimentary appearance, its still under construction.

I’ve had it for only three days.

perhaps to be a little more descriptive – when I search for my website on google this is the result:

My Blog | Just another WordPress site
    http://www.micahchiang.com/ – Cached
My Blog · About Me · Home · Uncategorized.

I wish to change the top line of that to something else. Does anyone know how to do that?

    thanks for the help!

If you’ve had your site only for a few days, you’ll need to wait, possibly a few weeks. There are million of pages out there that google needs to crawl through. I would give it time and add content, optimize your seo title tag and insert meta description.

By the way, when I google ‘Micah Chiang Photography’ I get your tumblr blog and don’t see My blog, just another wordPress site.
