I dunno if its possible, so this is just a suggestion of something I would try.... in settings->media try using the absolute path to the subdomain or domain folder (I assume its on the same host/server?)
Thanks for your response, Voodoo.
There's no path setting in my Setting-Media.
I'm using 3.0.3
Thanks again.
I got the terminology wrong, it calls it Full URL path to files, right down at the bottom
Yes, all is the same host.
I will try. Thank you very much. Voodoo. :)
Sure, I'll be interested to see if this works
Ah, here's further info for you:
http://mandar.im/upload-and-store-wordpress-images-on-sub-domain-change-default-media-settings/
Unfortunately, change Full URL (to subdomain) is NOT work. WP just can upload to installed folder.
I read the article in your link. It's useful. I did successfully.
But what if subdomain is located in other host? Is there any way?
Suppose that I have two hosting, I install the site in a host which support full functions but not much bandwidth and space. And other one has much bandwidth and space but not support full functions. And I want to store images in hosting which has much bandwidth.
How to access this host from other one to upload images?
Check out this google search and see if you can find any info. I believe what you are describing would be considered a cdn (content delivery network). I've never done it, so I can't be much help..... but it can definitely be done
Thanks for your fervour help.
My mean is not CDN :)
I will find more from Google.
Thank you again.
well technically, if you are offloading file storage to another host, its still a cdn.
For instance, when using the w3 cache plugin, it has an option for using a cdn. You don't have to use an official cdn service though. You can use a subdomain, or another host you have, or whatever. So I believe that it is still considered a cdn.
Either way, I hope that's enough info to get you going!
yes, I havent ever used any CDN service, but I know how it works.
I plan to use CDN in future.
But now I want to use WP uploader to upload images to other host if possible.
