How to change rss to rss2 effectively (2 posts)

I am only fairly familiar with code and so far what I have done doesn't work. In google reader for example, if one wants to subscribe to my blog they have to:
    1. Click the RSS button.
    2. Click the "go back one page" tab (it only shows unformatted text files)
    3. Click the RSS button AGAIN (very strange)
    4. Once in Google Reader edited the feed from http://www.amandawilcher.com/blog/?feed=rss to ?feed=rss2

For some reason my blog is in the format rss and not rss2 which effectively allows people to subscribe AND let my feeds show my photos and not just text. I have tried to manually edit this code myself in header.php but to no avail. Any suggestions? Thanks so much!

I suggest you sign up with feedburner.google.com and burn your rss2 feed through them. They take care of all of the details about serving someone up whatever feed they need - you then have only one RSS URL.

After signing up you do need to install the FeedSmith plugin (feedburner will link you to it) and configure it with the feed URL that Feedburner assigned you.

This will make your experiences with feeds simpler.
