[resolved] How to change page width? (7 posts)

    I like many features of Twenty Thirteen, not the least of which is responsiveness

    I want to use this theme for a site, the primary purpose of which is a community calendar: http://goldenvalleycalendar.com

    I may add a right sidebar with widgets to submit community events, etc.

    How can I make this homepage full width _without_ affecting responsiveness?

    It's important that this site is readily accessible from mobile devices.

    Please, advise. Thank you

    You'll need to start by creating a child theme - as it's very inadvisable to modify the default theme files - your changes will be lost when WP is updated.

    Yes, of course

    But, what escapes me, not yet comfortable with all of the HTML5 stuff, is what code to change and what code not to change

    I don't see a child theme on your site. Once that's done, someone can help you with the modifications.

    Cool - so try adding this to the style.css file under the @import line - you can adjust that max-width as you like.

    .home .entry-header,
    .home .entry-content,
    .home .entry-summary,
    .home .entry-meta {
        margin: 0 auto;
        max-width: 904px;
        width: 100%;
    }
