Support » Themes and Templates » How to change Inove header for my own header image?

  • I’m completely new to wordpress and web design in general so please explain things to me like you would to an elementary student.

I managed to set up the Inove theme after hours of fiddling around but I want to change the header to a custom image.

How do I do that? Also, does my custom image have to be the exact same size as the header for it to show up or can it be larger or smaller without it causing any problems?

I’ve done hours of searching to come up with css codes, public html, etc etc, but I have no idea what to change exactly and how. My site is recoveringsmoker.com if that helps.

    Thanks!

  • the simplest way I’ve found is to open the header_footer.jpg (found in the img file) in photoshop (or an equivalent) and edit to your heart’s content. I’ve managed to do this with Inove – you can see what I’ve done here: http://doayp.com/NCWD

What if you want to change the height of the banner?

Well, the background image for the header and footer are in the same file (header_footer.jpg). The height that is displayed in the header can be found in the css-file (both at #header and at #footer, it’s at 132px default).
I guess you can change that if you make the header-part a bit larger, but you’ll have to check the divs in the header too, whether they’re still in the right place.
