Support » Fixing WordPress » how to change archive page order to become more SEO friendly?

  • hello,
I noticed that when you add posts to WP, it uses a setting in admin panel to show the number of posts per page. then for example if it is 5, it archives pages with 5 posts and order them like this :

    http://abc.com/page/1
    http://abc.com/page/2
    http://abc.com/page/3

    http://abc.com/page/14

so there is a link at the bottom of main page called “Previous page / Next page”

now, remember that GOOGLE uses bots to index pages, and with this method of ordering archive pages, the URL of last page are always changing !! (for example it’s http://abc.com/page/14 and some days after sending some posts, it’s http://abc.com/page/17)

would you please tell me if there is a method to “re-order” this?
I know there is a query_posts() function with a parameter called “asc”
but when I use that function, it simply brings the old posts to the front page !

can I change this ordering like this :

    My last page > http://abc.com/page/1
My page before last page > http://abc.com/page/2

    My second page > http://abc.com/page/13
My front and first page (home) > http://abc.com/page/14

…so the GOOGLE bots will always index the correct URL, and the URL of last pages won’t change again.

    is it possible?
