    Hi all!

Using IBP to SEO my wordpress blog & there's a section in which it assesses the same domain URL links on your webpage & i'm failing drastically as wordpress has so many of these by default, all containing my keyword which results in me having too many to rank.

Anyone know of any way of changing or completely getting rid of these links such as 'Home', 'Sample Page', date of post, page title, 'Reply', 'Leave a reply', etc. 5 links in IBP's report originating from somewhere referred to as [empty] also.

I'm a complete novice so please keep it straightforward, if possible.

    Kind regards

    Niall

IBP? Can you link to what that is because the first hits I get have to do with IPB.

Those links you're getting rid of are links WP needs.

Home -> A link to your HOME PAGE
Sample Page -> A link to a sample page, which you can delete if you want
Reply -> A link within a page to the comments section
Leave a Reply -> Ditto (for leaving a reply to a specific comment)

It sounds like IPB hasn't a clue what WordPress is and isn't adjusting, which means it's an all-in-one tool that is useless.

    Try using This: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wordpress-seo/

It's free and works great :)

IBP = Internet Business Promoter, an absolutely brilliant piece of software that has helped me rank many static web pages in the top 10 on many search engines.

The WordPress page I'm trying to rank is my first affiliate marketing review page. I don't want all the link pages to rank in conjunction, just the exact URL that contains my keyword so it makes no odds if I take out the links described. So is there any way I can take out the links described?

I've installed the recommended plugin & will use that as a second option, though.

    Thanks for the reply.

Generally, you don't 'take out' links that you need without editing your page's template code, which would affect ALL pages.

If IBP does that, it's not a very good SEO tool. And it's probably not building your SEO the RIGHT want (i.e. good content, regular updates, building backlinks with related sites).

Again, I don't want all the pages on my wordpress domain to link to each other. I want to create many subdomains & non-linked URLs & SEO each individually to target separate keywords. I don't want users to reply. I don't want them to access a Homepage. I want to take all these links out or redirect them to URLs that contain the chosen keyword for each page as this DOES affect optimisation.

So how do I do this? I am not looking to build page rank. I am targeting non-competitive keywords relevant to my product & wish to totally dominate page 1 of Google search results with my marketing pages for these chosen keywords. I just want users when they search for a service to find a static review page that contains my affiliate link. IBP is a multi-award winning SEO tool that features highly on every top 5 list of SEO tools I have seen. But you say it's crap without ever using it or even hearing of it. lol

Again, how do I take out these links?

    Anyone?

Again, I don't want all the pages on my wordpress domain to link to each other.

They ... well I was about to say they don't but then I realized, they don't IF you've optimized your MENU. You can't get rid of the reply links without some serious work, AND doing that will make it harder for WP to do what it needs to do with comments.

But. You're kinda going about this weird. You DO want SOME pages on your WP site to link to each other, That's called a Navigation Menu and you can edit that all you want for your WHOLE site. Go to WP Admin -> Apperances -> Menus and if your theme is set up right, you can personalize your menu all you want.

So go do that. Edit your menu to be what you want, and the links on every page will go away. DO NOT delete the 'Home' link. Users want that.

Still, remember this. SEO is not all about your links and your layout, but your CONTENT.

I say IBP is crap cause in all my years of web stuff, I've never heard of it - http://www.ibusinesspromoter.com/ in case anyone else wants a look. Having looked, I now stand by my comment. 99.999999% of those tools are rip offs in my experience. There's not one single TOOL that can help you more than these four steps:

    1) Use good design with proper H1 usage
    2) Write great content
    3) Update regularly
    4) Network and get backlinks from related sites.

I can count the people I would consider real SEO 'experts' on one hand, and one of 'em wrote the plugin I tossed you to.

Many thanks for the reply & the advice is noted.

My content, h1, h1-h6, bold text, outgoing link texts, links & urls, keyword density for each, etc are already optimised. It's the keyword density of the same domain urls that's holding me up. Report compiling 500 sites to request reciprocal links from with keywords associated with my product is scanning as we speak.

IBP scans page 1 competitor sites' categories for all the above topics & makes recommendations for how to mimic & better their performance under each & so much more. Waiting on one-click submissions for the majority of 90 search engines via IBP to start listing but already ranking 16th on Bing UK, listing confirmed, for keyword term 'uk tv abroad' despite having NO backlinks yet (IBP scanning for 500 reciprocal link-friendly sites with chosen keywords), a few SEO tweaks yet to do, only a week old domain with no Google PR & the URL problem mentioned so it's already getting results.

Page 1 in no time, surely! & with no dirty tactics either.

Went to Appearance -> Menus, created a new menu which i called 'same domain urls', added a new Custom Link, added the completed new menu to the Post i'm using & saved.

But still the same domain urls are showing as before. How exactly do I use the Menu settings to change them?

Used the plugin you recommended but it seems very basic & doesn't consider a huge array of vital SEO categories which are covered by IBP to get a page 1 ranking. Nonetheless, I used it to change all settings as the plugin advised.
