    Hi,
I have a website in which I use WordPress as blog.

But I want the website top page to be a static page which displays just the last entry on the blog.
Is this possible and if so, anyone can someone offer some advice on how to do it?
Also, I'd like to change the width of the WP sidebar. I'm Using Balthelme but it may cnage. I've been able to change a few things about it, but I cant find the way to assign a different width to the side bar.
    Many thanks
    Fernando

You have to use tempalatetags in you'r page.
    http://codex.wordpress.org/Template_Tags/get_posts
    Take a look.

And your sidebar width should be in your style.css ;)

    Thank you Daan!
I looked at the linked page and it let dizzy!
I'm not entirely sure how to do it or where to place the code.
I guess that I need to include some php code... but where?
My main or top page has just index html an a .htaccess file. The one that is put in place there has html and an XML file. No php anywhere
Maybe a php file needed there, but I have no clue how or what it shuld say and do.
I though it will be a kind of widget that can be inserted in the page html and display the blog last post. Is this possible.
    Thanks a lot
    Fernando
