How to Call in Right Sidebar On Event Calendar Page When Using Arras Theme (4 posts)

    Hi, apologies in advance, yet another sidebar question. I have searched on the forums on WordPress, Tribe and Arras theme but not quite found the solution.

    When I installed The Events Calendar my footer was showing up in my right sidebar. I came across a post on Arras that suggested I needed to add:

    </div>
    <?php get_sidebar (); ?>
    <?php get_footer(); ?>

    So I put that in Template Settings, Add HTML After Calendar

    That was successful and moved my footer to the bottom of the page BUT... my right sidebar is empty. No widgets are showing up.

    I read on another forum that it should be pulling in my page.php code but when I checked that code, my sidebar is being pulled in as expected. So my question is, what should I try next?

    My sidebar should normally show an ad unit, list of pages, tag cloud, Twitter unit and a couple of affiliate logos.

    I know this isn't a bug, this is a customisation thing, but I'm not terribly technical and I'd really appreciate any help, even if it's just to point me in the right direction.

    Thanks in advance. You can view the site with events calendar here: http://www.charlottesvveb.com/east-european-events

    Hi charliesjones,

    As mentioned in our sticky thread (http://wordpress.org/support/topic/welcome-the-events-calendar-users-read-this-first), we unfortunately are unable to help with with customization, styling or integration issues not caused by bugs with The Events Calendar. You have a few options:

    1. Check out our extensive support resources and try to figure it out on your own: https://tri.be/support/ & http://tri.be/support/forums
    2. Hire a developer to assist you. We've got a list of freelancers who know our code and who we can vouch for. Email us (pro at tri.be) and we'll pass that list your way.
    3. Purchase a Pro license to get more support: http://tri.be/shop/wordpress-events-calendar-pro/. As mentioned in the sticky thread, we can provide both a deeper and more frequent level of support for PRO users.

    I hope that helps and good luck!

    Cheers,
    - Jonah

    Hi Jonah,

    Thanks for replying. I did read the sticky but I thought other users may have some tips for me even if support were unable to help. I am sure it's something quite simple but so far I've spent pretty much three days trying to figure it out. As I said, I'm not that technical.

    As I mentioned, I've gone through your forum, the one on WordPress and the Arras theme forum. It brough some solutions but not all. Hence looking for help on here.

    Unfortunately, as the site doesn't even really break even and my day job doesn't exactly pay well, I'm not really in a position to hire a developer or purchase a pro license.

    I guess I'll just have to keep tinkering.

    Thanks anyway.

    Hi charliesjones,

    Yeah, sorry we can't offer up more from you here. Hopefully someone else can chime in with a possible solution or a willingness to help out.

    Good luck!
