I am still setting up my blog and my domain is connected to my hosting service. How do I block public viewing of my site while it's still under construction? I can only find a "private" button on my dashboard, but it's not adequate for my purposes because it only gives two options, neither of which blocks viewing. I would appreciate some help on this. Thanks.

Posted 2 years ago #I have resolved this issue and if anyone else has the same problem, just use the page password protect feature. That way you can work on your blog and the page cannot be viewed by anyone, but you.

Posted 2 years ago #Add a temporary index.html file to the root of your website that states your site is down for maintenance. If you don't know how to make your own, you can use this index maintenance page on your own site. Just unzip the file, upload it to your server and then rename it to index.html.
