   there are good plugins out there which hide page listings and pages for defined users; so that page list and page itself only appears when specific user is logged in.

   There are also plugins to restrict categories to defined users.

   However, I cannot find any plugins to allow a specific category in list to be hidden when the specific user is not logged in.

   Can anyone help point me in the right direction or provide the necessary code?

   My notes say you "Can also restrict the 'anonymous/not logged in' user" with this plugin:

   This plugin might also work though not sure it works at 2.8 (it does work at 2.7.1)
