   hi, i have a self hosted version of WP and would like to allow visitors the option to subscribe to a topic, but don't seem to have that option in my discussion settings.

   do i need a plugin or am i missing something?

   Maybe you could search on Google

   help wordpress "subscribe to topic"

   or

   help wordpress notify of new comments

   or something...

   i meant so that someone posting a comment under one of my posts can receive an email telling them that someone else has posted a comment. I'm looking for an option like the one described at http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/discussion-settings/

   Subscribe to Comments

   Subscribe to Comments will make a checkbox appear below the comment form on your blog. When visitors check the Notify me of followup comments via email checkbox when they submit a comment, they will receive an email notification every time someone else leaves a comment on that post

   but that option "Subscribe to comments" doesn't appear in my settings.

   I've tried googling, but find anything :/
