How to Allow Registering Users to Create their own Password (3 posts)

I've had many troubles with users registering for my blog who simply don't receive a password in their email, or are put off by the idea that they can't create their own password from the jump. Does anyone know if it's even possible to allow users to immediately create their own password without relying on a confirmation email? Much thanks.

It's not such a bad thing to force users to wait until they get a confirmation email with an assigned password. they can change that password the first time they log in.

This ensures that it's a real human on the other end and not just some bot randomly signing up.

who simply don't receive a password in their email

Ask your host about that, they may need to (re)configure for php mail()...
