How to add translations of wordps those are not translated by default

Problem is if i use <?php _e(“instagram”); ?>
in my theme then on switching language to other it should be translated to that language but it is not getting translated, so i want to know how i can add translation of this world so it gets translated , i don’t know to which file i can add that translation of this world so it can get translated..on switching language
