I have read all the custom field topics but I'm not sure if this is even possible.
Here is what I want to do:
I have custom field called Number, where the users enter a number in the value field.
1. What I would like is to be able to add up the values in the Number custom field and display the each user's total on a page, with a link to each author and a link to their posts that have that value filled in. I would like this to be displayed for all posts with this criteria within a time period eg jan-dec 2008
So it would look something like:
Author Number Total View Posts
Fred: Total - 3546 <link to posts with this value>
George: Total - 946 <link to posts with this value>
Tom: Total - 621 <link to posts with this value>
And then a total for all users
All members total 5113 link to view all posts with this value for all users
2. At the same time I would like the "link to posts with this value" above to take you to a page that displays a list of the posts in this category for each author but I would like the posts to have a number next to them like so:
1. name of post one
2. name of post two
3. name of post three
4. name of post four
and then the number value total as before
I don't know much about php and I'm still learning wordpress.
Is this possible, if so can someone help or point me in the right direction? I know what I want to achieve, just not how to achieve it!
