I am new to WP, but have some html and css experience. I just loaded Zion template and was able to get the site up and running except for the text on the font page. This is a thee column setup that seems to be linked to different pages. I can create a page with columns, but I have not been able to figure out how add the columns to the home page without wiping out everything else on the home page. If this was an regular html site, I would go to index and work my way backwards to find the problem. However, I know nothing about WP, and am stymied. Can anyone help me?

If there's a simple answer, we might be able to see it if you give us your site's url to check it out. Post it here and we'll see what we can offer!

However, if it's more involved than that, you should know: the Zion theme is provided by a commercial developer and so the support people here don't have access to its theme files. (This forum can only really support themes from the wordpress.org repository.)

It looks like you can find support that's specific to that theme by posting on their site. Good luck!

I understand this is not a WordPress theme, but I am getting no help from any one. I was hoping that this would be common to WordPress and not my theme. If it were in html, I would understand what to do, but I am struggling with the different format not just the them. I am just assuming that most static themes are set up similar where were you can add text to he home page. If I ad text to the home page, it does not show up and it I change the template setting to something other than Home, it applies the text but it removes the slide show. My site is http://www.faithbiblesb.org.

    Thank you.

Are you familiar with WordPress Widgets? (description here)

Without access to the theme files, it's hard to say for sure, but it looks like your theme is set up with widget areas in the templates (in the code, the column areas are named 'homepage-widgets').

I assume that you'd be able to populate those columns (they're probably invisible until you put something in them) by going to Dashboard > Appearance > Widgets and seeing what widget areas have been set up for you to use in that area. I'm sure that once you get the hang of it, you'll find this much easier than editing html! Good luck, let us know if that solves your problem.
