    Hi there!

On one of our websites we use Events Manager for events of mutiple dates. On the starting date the event starts at 20:00 and the last day the event finishes at 12:00.

When you insert the dates with these times in Events Manager, this is how it will be presented on the website:

    Date and time
    Date: 13-03-2020 until 15-03-2020
    Time: 20:00 until 12:00

We believe for a visitor not very clear…

Using the “whole day” description is not the right solution, since it is not the complete information a visitor should get and not clear either.

How can this be changed so that it is clear to the visitor that the event start on 13-03-2020 at 20:00 and finishes on 15-03-2020 at 12:00? Both on the website and in the corresponding e-mails for confirmation?

    Thanks,
    Monique

  • Hiya,

You can change all the formatting used by EM in the settings. Go to Events > Settings > Formatting.

    Thanks

    Thanks for your reply John!

I had a look into this before, however my main problem is that PHP date syntax is not really my cup of tea ;-(

Can you maybe help a littlebit? If for example I want to show on an event:

    Date and time
Start of event: 13-03-2020 at 20:00
End of event: 15-03-2020 at 12:00

How should I configure this in my settings?

    Monique,

You can’t do this out of the box due to the fact there is no place holder for Start & End Dates, so you would have to create 2 custom place holders for a Start Date & End Date.

To create a custom placeholder, like at the page below
    http://wp-events-plugin.com/tutorials/create-a-custom-placeholder-for-event-formatting/

    Good Luck

    Hey Monique,

You should be able to use the start and end times listed here:
    http://wp-events-plugin.com/documentation/placeholders/

The problem, as tricer mentioned, is the separate start and end dates which would need some custom coding.

    Thanks both for your replies!

I will use the existing placeholders and somehow find a way to work around it to make clear for the visitor what the event is all about 😉
