   I want to add a viewer counter and other things to my blog page and i cannot see where to add new plugins in admin section it seems to not allow me to add anything new only deactivate/activate exsisting ones that came with spli.

   I also wanted to upload pics using the uploader included with wordpress but it keeps telling me that i am unable to upload this file type they are just jpegs taken with my digital camera any ideas as i have been using image shack and every photo uploaded by them has image shack ads inculded.

   Uploading is accomplished with an ftp client.

   Plugins are uploaded to your wp-content/plugins/ directory.

   Images that are uploaded via the admin area typically need to be named so that the file extension is .jpg, .jpeg, .gif, or .png .. there may be more allowed but those are the most common. Make sure thats not an issue that you need to address.
