How to add new facebook connection with publicize

I’m clicking on “add new facebook connection to connect to a business page associated with my personal profile. I get to a page that asks to log in as my personal profile name. I am currently logged in and my business page is active as I try to connect. As I continue I find myself on my facebook page but nothing more happens. I don’t get returned to the dashboard of my wordpress website nor does the connection get added. I see some forum topics on a connection problem and so I’ve updated my jetpack but this didn’t change anything.

any suggestions?
