How to add image to post from image gallery? (2 posts)

Brand new to WordPress (about 45 mins.). Uploaded one image into a post from my computer. Then got wise and uploaded all the images for that post to my image gallery. But how do I insert an image from my gallery into a post?

Went to the Codex and read, "If you want to insert the same image into another post go to the "Gallery", hit the "Show" link, and then follow the same instructions to insert that image into another location or post." Sounds simple. I go to the image gallery, click on Show of the image I want and I get all sorts of options (edit the image, change title, description, caption, alt. text, move to trash) except insert into post. Confused. Please help?

Couldn't find what version of WP I am using. Found this info: "In the WordPress Administration Panels, on any panel look at the bottom of the screen and the version number will be visible." But there is never a version number no matter what screen from any panel I'm on.

Below all of the options for the image (after the Size radio buttons that say Thumbnail, Medium, Large, Full Size) you'll see a button that says 'Insert into Post'. That's what you need to press.

Maybe you need to use your scroll to go right to the bottom of the page. On the right hand side in the footer it will say 'Version 2.8.5' or similar, you can't miss it.
