How to add hCard "author"? Can't find the_author…() [WP 3.9 20-11]

    Hi,

    I would like to add an “author” hCard as described in this blog post:

    But I cannot find the_author() or the_author_posts_link() – neither in single.php nor in any other php-file offered by the WP-theme-editor. Same problem for “the_time()”.

    Also Fivera describes to find the_title() in single.php or loop.php but again I can’t find it there.

    How to proceed?
