How to add Google analytics cross-domain onClick tracking code to links?

    One of my major frustrations with WordPress is that you can’t edit link attributes in the Edit Link page. I have a number of external links on my blogs and need to track clicks to these external sites.

    I have added a link to my main navigation menu via the Links\Add New Link page. How do I add the onClick code to those links so I can track the external clicks via Google Analytics?
