How to add Google ad banner in Twenty Twelve Child Theme (6 posts)

I've been slowly, slowly making my way in creating a Child Theme for Twenty Twelve.

I've managed to add a Google banner ad by reading advice on this forum.
According to directions, I placed code in header.php just above <hgroup>. But the ad appears below my header and it's to the left. I'd like to center it and place it at the very top, above my custom header. Could someone kindly help?

This forum has been very helpful but as I'm NOT well versed in coding please explain step by step!

You'll need to add CSS to position anything on your site - and we'd need to see the site live to help with any CSS questions.

Hmmmmm. makes sense but I'm working on it locally to get it 'just so' before taking it live.

Then your best friend for CSS work is Firebug - and the general CSS info on this site should be helpful too:

Also, if the ad is too low, you will likely need to move it higher up on in the header.php file.
