Which theme are you using? You can typically add the comment box by creating a child theme of your theme and editing a copy of the index.php
to add the correct code.
Give this post a read, it really explains it pretty well.

Keep in mind that many theme’s have layouts that will break when you do this as the home page wasn’t designed for putting comments there.
The example you give by the link above must be a different theme than mine. Mine doesn’t have <?php the_content
for example and several other differences. \
My theme is Twenty Twelve.
If anybody knows how to add a comments box below the post on the homepage index.php and can point me in the right direction I would be appreciate it.
Thanks

How do I get a comments box to show up under my posts on my homepage? I have 3 post with no ability to comment unless they click the post title. I would like to allow comments to be posted directly from the home page.
