[resolved] How To add an image/text to the first list item in the navmenu in twentythirteen (4 posts)

    Hi all,

I am trying to add a logo jpg (60x60) into the same 'row' and to the left of the horizontal nav menu. When I mocked up the design in HTML I put the jpg in the first list item of the menu and styled "vertical-align:middle" to line up the image with the nav links.
I am trying to replicate this in WP 3.6 twentythirteen theme.

I can't see how to make wp_nav_menu do this. I have tried the suggestion in the codex for adding a word at the beginning of the menu but with no luck.

    Can anyone advise?

    Many thanks in advance.

    Franc.

Sorry, forgot to add that I am trying to do this by editing header.php in a child theme of twentythirteen. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

trying to add a logo jpg (60x60) into the same 'row' and to the left of the horizontal nav menu.

Logo should be clickable, right ? So you could just make the first menu link to home, and then target the id or whatever class and style this one with background image replacement.

"vertical-align:middle" to line up the image with the nav links.

The height of nav bar is 45px, and 45 is less than 60px. So you can't really do that, it should be the other way around. The logo is bigger, so adjust the top and bottom padding on <a> inside the <li>.
