How to add a child theme on plugin installation / activation

    I’m developing a plugin that uses a child theme.
    My questions are,
    1) At what point should I create the child theme and dump my files into it? During installation of the plugin or activation?
    2) Should I create a script that copies the files into the newly created folders or can I use a separate self extracting zip?
