    Hello,

i am trying to upload/activate a plugin. I am succesful in so far that i can upload it via my ftp client wich is filezilla into the wp-content order. After that i dont know further and sice i am using wp 3.1.3. there is no upload or activate button i can press somewhere in wp. Maybe also important to know: I am not the builder of the site, so maybe i do need to log in as the administrator and not just as the user??? I can add pictures and edit my text on the pages, anyway. Help on this is very much appreciated.
    Thanks!

    Oliver

You really can't, plugins have to be activated via your installation's WordPress dashboard.

Are you an admin in that WordPress installation? Aside from the fact that you should not use such an old version of WordPress if your account is not administrator level then you can't do it. Do you have another account there or is that installation on your host?

    hi jan,
thanks for the fast response. I am indeed not the admin, but will contact him and let me give the admin rights. probably then its possible. thank you so far !

  4. When you do have that conversation please ask the admin to consider making a full and complete file and database backup and upgrade. ;)

You may find that plugin will not work correctly with such an old installation. BTW the web site in your user profile? It's running 3.0.4...
