I am a newbie and this is my very first blog which is hosted by a third party. I just applied for Google Adsense and was asked by them to do the following:
1.Access the source code of your website.
2.Create a separate page on the site and paste "This post confirms my ownership of the site and that this site adheres to Google Adsense program policies and Terms and Conditions".
3.Resubmit the application as described below after replacing the current URL in the 'Website URL' with the field URL of the page where you have pasted the snippet.

Will anybody be kind enough to help me? I have been struggling with this and going nowhere for days. Thanks a lot

My blog is a WordPress.org blog hosted by a third party webhosting company. Not WordPress.com.

Any advice on how I should proceed will be highly appreciated. Thanks.

your "source code" is your theme files. But it sounds like they just want you to write a post so you can verify that it's your site - you don't need the source code. So they're assuming people have static sites, and using a poor choice of words ot explin.

Basically you want to write a post, and plug that text in the post. Publish. Visit the new post. Copy the URL. Submit it to them with the URL to this page.

The easiest way is to install a plugin to handle Adsense for you:
    http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/advertising-manager/

If it doesn't solve your problem, you can try creating a page in WordPress dashboard and pasting the required text in it, just like a normal post or page.

Then, grab its url and paste it in the appropriate field.

To access the source of your site, edit your theme files. But I don't think it will be necessary.

I am a newbie and this is my very first blog which is hosted by a third party. I just applied for Google Adsense and was asked by them to do the following
Domain ownership: To complete our review, we need to confirm your
ownership of the site you've submitted. Please follow the steps below:
    - Access the source code of your website.
    - Create a separate page on the site and paste "This post confirms my
ownership of the site and that this site adheres to Google AdSense
program policies and Terms and Conditions."
    - Resubmit the application as described below after replacing the
current URL in the 'Website URL' field with the URL of the page where
    you have pasted the snippet.

how can i access the source code of my website?

    with wordpress, you don't have to;

make sure you really fulfill all the Terms and Conditions.

simply create a new static page and enter the text required by google into it; press publish, and note the permalink of the page.

resubmit this permalink in the 'Website URL' field.
