   i have a free wordpress blog am i able to link this blog to my website if i upload to the same server/domain or do i need a separate domain in order to use the blog.

   Are you saying you have a hosted blog on wordpress.com or that you've set up the blog on your domain?

   im not sure what is the best to do either install a blog alongside my existing website on the same server which i believe i can do, or use wordpress.com as a separate blog all together.

   do i need a sub domain with my first option?

   You can install wordpress in a subdomain or a sub-directory of the root.

   Yes, you can absolutely install on the same server. All you need is database access.

   You can link to God or the Devil on a website. You don't need another domain.
   Just drop WordPress in your website and access them both with your favorite web editor. I think that's what samboll said with the sub-directory thing.
   And the Lady was right. Set up a database and point.

   Thanks for the advice i have decided to opt for the free wordpress for the time being my blog for the moment time to go and look for tips.
