   I turned off wp-supersized in case that was interfering and checked for caching--none that I can see--so, how long does it take to turn on?

   But, omg, my tabs and everything are showing. That's bad. Is that the way it's supposed to be?

   Is this true? That is, does it really take a snapshot of your own personal browser, including your labelled tabs and so-on ??? So does it therefore upload a screenshot from your browser? Confused about how this works and would like some clarification.

   No this is not true. It takes a snapshot if your site using the WordPress.com snapshot service. You can upload you own images if that does not suite.

   Yes if you know css you can change the opacity.
