How is this possible? (6 posts)

I'm new to this so please forgive my ignorance.

I was running the jobpress theme and made some changes to the code to hide built-in ads. Long story short, I screwed the thing up and didn't have a backup.

I deactivated the theme, deleted from ftp. Reuploadeded a fresh version and the errors persist. I figured the old changed must've left a footprint on the database.

So- I've deleted the mysql database, wiped my server of wordpress, reinstalled w/ new database and the same errors keep coming back. How is this possible?

  2. You will need to contact the themes author for support. Commercial themes are not supported on these forums.

That being said, how is it possible that these issues would return after completely wiping the database and wordpress install and starting fresh?

  4. I'm not sure if I understand your question. What exactly are the errors you are experiencing? Do the errors persist when switching to the default theme, TwentyEleven?

What I don't understand is how changes I made to a theme persist after deleting the edited theme files, deleted the mysql database, and clearing my server. Then reinstalling a fresh copy of the theme on a fresh install of wordpress on a new database...

    Am I crazy?

  6. Hopefully not. ;)

Can you share your URL? If you've deleted the edited files and you're still seeing them, then there maybe a cached copy somewhere.

Looking at your site may help figure out what's going on.
