How *exactly* do I sort posts by meta_key?

    Hi All,

    Before I begin, I’ll let it be known that I’ve seen several posts such as this one:

    ..and my question still isn’t fully answered.

    Basically, I need to sort the results of what I’m guessing are from my theme’s “category.php” by meta_key. It doesn’t need to be dynamic as the site is a real estate site and posts will always be sorted by one meta_key field (the key representing “property price”). I’ve seen several forum topics regarding this, but I still need to know which file to edit (category.php? archive.php? query.php?) and exactly where to place the code.

    If there are multiple methods I’m open to suggestions. My only request is to make no assumptions regarding my knowledge of WP include hierarchy and to be as explicit as reasonably possible.
