    Hello,

My client is concerned about this plugin will override or in some way derail the meta data she already entered into Yoast. She is a small ecommerce site (product) and I am advising her to start early with rich snippets on her products. How do I address this concern with her? Are the two plugins compatible, meaning can i use yoast for text and this for image etc? Please advise

    Hey danielleid,

I hope you are doing well with our "All in One Schema.org Rich Snippets" plugin.

Well, as per your client concern, it is not possible to derail the metadata from yoast's plugin with our current plugin. Since, our plugin uses the data (text) entered into the meta boxes to populate on the site with Rich Snippets Markup.

Yes, this can be achieved by using yoast for text and our plugin for images. This needs to customize our plugin, so it will be compatible with yoast.

If you need this type of customization, please do contact us on the given email ID into the plugin's dashboard.

Feel free to ask any doubts. Also tell us if you have any suggestions for improvements.

    Regards,
    Nitin

So just to clarify, it needs to be "customized" to work with Yoast? Can it work with Yoast without being "customized"
Do your developers customize for free or do we have to pay for this?

Can you explain what the custom option is like?

Well, there are quite a few different possibilities of the customizations depending on how is the products site of your client.

    1. Is this eCommerce website where you have used some sort of plugin like wooCommerce?
    2. Or this is just a plain site with products listed?

If we are discussing the option 2 here, then I think there is no way our plugin will override anything of Yoast's WordPress SEO plugin as what it does is simply add a block of text at the end of each post MicroData that generate rich snippets in search results.

    Please let me know ..

    :-)

    Yes the site has wooCommerce

Well, in that case - the MicroData should be configured by wooCommerce plugin in your products.

Since our plugin doesn't control or configure with wooCommerce product shortcodes and only combines with pages or posts, it will be effective only if you have individual product on individual page and you add rich snippet data on that page with our plugin.

But, again to the main point - our plugin has not found to be conflicting with Yoast's WordPress SEO Plugin.

Please let us know if you need further help or have suggestions.

    Regards!

So what you are saying is I dont need to use your plugin. I configure rich snippets in WooCommerce itself, correct? Thanks for helping me solve this!

I have a more in depth question from the developer of the site I am working on ( I am SEO not developer ) so forgive my ignorance. She asks:

Since each product is really a custom post type, are you saying that we can add snippets to the product posts? or are you saying that we need to transplant that information to a regular post or page in order to be able to use your plugin? We do see the rich snippets area on the product pages to configure it.

I guess what we really need to know: If we configure it on the product pages will it work? and we've also confirmed that it won't interfere with Yoast if we do it this way.

My precise answers to your questions -

    # Are you saying that we can add snippets to the product posts?
    = You can

    # Are you saying that we need to transplant that information to a regular post or page in order to be able to use your plugin?
= No really necessary as our plugin works with custom post types as well.

    # If we configure it on the product pages will it work?
    = It will work

    # We've also confirmed that it won't interfere with Yoast if we do it this way.
    = Correct.

However, my expert opinion if you would like to know - Get rich snippets MicroData configured in WooCommerce Plugin This would require some customizations in the WooCommerce if they don't provide this as addon or as a part of their plugin; however this is what you ideally should do. :-)

    Reasons for this recommendations -

    1. It will protect the look and feel of your products page as our plugin adds a MicroData box at the end of each page where you configure it. This will not be done with what I have suggested.

    2. You will not have to enter data multiple times - in wooCommerce and in our plugin input forms.

    Hope my answer is helpful.

For other readers, the bottomline is All In One Schema.org Rich Snippets Plugin works well with WordPress SEO Plugin by Yoast.
