How does theme grade look? (6 posts)

I made a big customization using Woothemes' Aperture theme and created a WordPress theme review site called Theme Grade

I have been improving the site's features and structure since I launched it one year ago.

Any comments and suggestions about this site is greatly appreciated.

I just took a look at your site, and I have a few suggestions.

    • Correct the spelling of WordPress. It should have an uppercase "W" and an uppercase "P."
    • The moving row of premium themes moves too quickly. It makes me dizzy. Can you slow down the movement so visitors to your site have time to look at the images?
    • The images throughout the site are too close together. Having more white space between the images would make everything easier to see.

    thisisedie,

themegrade asked for comments and suggestions, and I complied with his request.

What kind of comment is your "Um?"

If someone misspells WordPress on their site, the spelling should be corrected. It's very unprofessional to have words not spelled correctly on a Web site or blog site; it can also be very embarrassing.

The word is not spelled incorrectly, it just doesn't have the common capitalization of the P.

On a corporate site I'd have to agree but on a personal blog... no. But again, WordPress was not misspelled therefore your comment was not helpful, it was just nitpicking. And that was the reason for my "um".

I find the design too cluttered and it's information overload. Navigation isn't that intuitive with multiple ways to navigate from the menu, pagination and from the sidebar.

I'd also agree about the blindingly fast carousel, it steals attention from other parts of the site.

Agreed about the lack of capitalisation of WordPress, as that' the trademark of the software, whilst wordpress is acceptable it's not for a theme review site.

Final comment is the theme doesn't validate with W3C.
