[resolved] How do you view the whole pending comment? (13 posts)

I realize I must be missing something obvious, but I can't figure out how to do this.

When I get a new comment and it goes to pending, it shows part of the comment followed by "..."

How do I expand the comment field to read the whole thing before I approve it?

Does anyone know how to do this?

You are seeing the entire comment I think. Try to edit the comment and see what it says. I get these sometimes and they are attempts to link so I just delete them.

There is more to the actually comment. I just moved to wordpress so everyone is going through the first comment phase. I'd like to use the reply and approve feature, but to really use it I'd need reply to the whole comment.

When you click edit do you see the entire comment?

Yes, I am able to see the whole comment if I click on edit (or just approve it).

To click on edit is an extra step to read it, then hit the back space button to approve it.

Here is an image of what I see of posts. These have been approved but they look the same way as pending comments "..."

The ones with the ellipses are all longer comments.

Is this a theme thing? The graphic of the comments is quite different from the standard wordpress comments.

    You can also try
    - deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    - switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

That graphic is not a result of your theme. Is it from your CommentLuv plugin?

OH, thanks. I do use that CommentLuv. I'm deactivating it now to see if that clears it up. If that is not it I will check all the others one by one.

    Will report back.

Um, okay. I've been viewing them from the dashboard not the comment area (missed it by that much). In there, I can see the whole post.

    Sorry, I'm still a newbie! :)

Thanks for taking so much time with me.
