    Ok
    For example just a simple grey box around a text wdget, or all widgets.
    How can this be done?

    White background and want somethimg stylish to as backgroud or style in the sidebar widgets?

    I have found the Firefox plug-in called Firebug invaluable for finding and changing styles in my WordPress Blog. You just navigate to a page, fire up Firebug and it will show you your HTML and CSS. You can select the page component and Firebug will show you the styles that apply to that particular element. Then you either edit the style sheet in a text editor and upload it or you can use the WP Admin panel to edit the style sheet.
