How do you organize the media on your hard drive? (4 posts)

I want to start a WordPress blog and I'm not sure how to organize the various media on my computer's hard drive.

Should I create folders on my hard drive for my blog's media files, so I'm not browsing my entire hard drive every time I need to upload a piece of media?

For example, should I have a folder called "MY BLOG" on my hard drive and a folder in that folder called "Header" where I keep my header? And a folder called "About Me Text" and a folder called "Portfolio" and so forth?

How do you organize the media on your hard drive that you upload to your blog? If you have a system of folders that works well for organizing about anything, please share.

Or do you keep all your media on YouTube and Flickr and other sites, so you have nothing on your hard drive to organize?

I let WordPress do it. When I upload media, it's for a post. So I grab what I need, upload, and have WP sort it up there.

On my hard drive, it's just scattered all around in iPhoto.

Ah, good ol' iPhoto. Thank you for replying.

    Anyone use a different method?

I simply keep all the blog related images on a folder named 'artwork'. I have one of those for each site.
