• I’ve installed an RSS feed on my site. It is supposed to show the most recent three posts from a message board I have at another site. And that’s just what it did when I first set it up. See the right sidebar here:

But those are the same three posts that were there when I first installed the feed on my WP sidebar. There’ve been more new posts on the message board where the feed comes from, but those newer posts are not showing up on my page.

Is there something I need to do to get this to refresh and stay current? I guess I was thinking the RSS feed would display new posts in real time but that may not be the case. How often does it update? What have I missed? Any help appreciated. Thanks.

  • RSS feeds are generated on demand (ie in real time).

It turns out the message board is broadcasting an ATOM feed, not RSS. The WordPress RSS widget is, however, picking it up fine. But it’s not updating. As new posts are made to the message board, my WP widget remains showing the original posts. Is this a WP setting or an ATOM setting at my phpBB message board? Any insight appreciated. Thanks.
