How do you create blog post excerpts for the home page loop?

    Hello,

    I have the front page of the website to show the 2 most recent blog posts. But the home page is showing the ENTIRE post of each of these.

    How do I make it so it only shows the top 300 pixels or something like that. I couldn’t find it in the WordPress dashboard or the book I bought.
