I am trying to use WordPress at my business but am having troubles configuring wordpress to get RSS feeds from external sites.

    My setup is as follows

    Win2K3 Server 64bit
    IIS6 running 32bit Fast CGI
    PHP 5.2.9
    MySQL 5.1
    Wordpress 2.7.1

and the server is behind a proxy.

How do I configure wordpress to use a proxy? I tried putting my proxy information into wp-includes/class-snoopy.php but I am still not getting any results with the RSS Widget or any of the feeds in the Admin Dashboard page.

Not used WP behind a proxy so can't comment anymore.

I'm also experiencing this problem.. my XML feeds won't work..

I need to configure WordPress to use a proxy for outgoing HTTP requests, but there is no real option to do it.

I've also tried the class-snoopy.php, but it didn't do anything.

If anyone has *any* suggestions, I'd really appreciate them.. as I've been working on this issue for 12 hours.. it's time to go to bed, it's nearly 1am here..

    thanks

I actually resolved this by adding an exception in the firewall, it's working fine now.. I would have preferred to have run it through the proxy though.. a temporary fix at best.

I just found this and made my installation work. I'm using version 2.8.2 now

I wished they had this better documented
