   Could someone have a look at my website please and use firebug or something to work this out?

   As you can see "subscribe" and "recent posts" have borders around them which i was able to do through editing .sidebar h3 but I can't get a border around "archives," which is a text widget.

   Subscribe & Recent posts are h3, Archives is just an anchor tag.

   Why don't you add a title to your text widget, or better yet, use the build it archives widget?
