   Greetings,
   With version 3.0.5 I can't see any options to import blog contents from a previous installation of WordPress. This is the same server with a new OS, so the old blog is not alive. It exists in the form of an XML export.

   The only import option for WordPress blogs seems to demand an alive blog. Am I missing something here?

   WordPress uses plugins to do importing after version 3 (I think). In the tools > import page it should have you download the proper plugin. You could also do that manually from the plugin repository (WordPress importer).
