How do I upgrade memory or 'resources'? (3 posts)

I posted the problem of an incredibly slow and non-functioning blog this morning and was sent to WordPress.com - but I am with WordPress.org.

    See: http://www.ApertureJacksonHole.com

I was told that I was using up too many resources and so eliminated a bunch of photos and upgraded my account with GoDaddy. It makes no difference.

The site is so slow as to be nonfunctional in any attempt to edit - it takes five to ten seconds for a keystroke to register and even reading the preview is dead slow.

The site will soon be two days overdue on its posting date. Please help me with this one. Thanks,
    HT

Try deactivating all plugins. If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

If that does not resolve the issue, try switching to the Default theme (WordPress 1.5 - 2.9.2) or the Twenty Ten theme (WordPress 3.0 and higher) to rule-out a theme-specific issue.

"using too many resources" means memory on your hosting account. GD is notoriously slow.

You can try caching as well. Eliminating your photos will have very little effect. Like James says, deactivate your plugins to check.

    But overall? I;d move.
