You used Filezilla to upload the files to your webhost? And now want to delete the files off of the webhost's machine using Filezilla?

Filezilla is a program that lets you upload files to a folder on a web server. So there is nothing actually "in" Filezilla. You need to connect to the web server with Filezilla and delete the files from there.

    That make sense?

That is what I did but the WP files won't delet. so now I can't use the domain name that I started with. I saw referace to there being an unistall WP File but I don't remember where I saw it. Easy to find a lot of coments without explination.

I know what you are saying. I understand what filezilla is. I have never had trouble deleting web files through FZ but for some reason the WordPress files won't delet.

I hope this makes my problem clearer.

    Thank you again,
    Trish

Hmmm. As long as you have access, and rights, to the folders that the files are in, then you should be able to delete them. Seems like the problem may be at the web host (I am thinking that maybe they have FTP set to allow you to write but not delete). Is there a file manager program that they have inside of a control panel (i.e., cPanel)? That might give you more control than FTP (filezilla).

I am not sure what to say from there.

I have full control of both my Cpanel and Filezilla. I host At Chris Farrells membership site and they are all about teaching people to do things for themselves.
I have never had trouble deleting files through Filezilla, this is the first time this has happened. I beleave it has more to do with the way WordPress files are configured.
I have been searching help and FAQ's for both WordPress and Filezilla and can't seem to find the answer.

    Thank you for your efforts,

    Trish

WordPress files are just like any other file. They are not "configured" differently.

If you cannot delete with c-panel or filezilla then I suggest you check permissions on your directories. You might want to talk to your host.

    How do I check permissions?
I have also sent a note to my host asking about this problem.

    Thank you for your response,
    Trish

Checking with your host is probably the best way to do it. But, in filezilla there may be a right-click option that will let you choose the Properties of your files and directories. (It has been a very long time since I used filezilla, so I am just guessing here). You may be able to change them with filezilla. But the host can probably sort you out immediately.
