How do I stop the refresh on the header?

Hi,
I am developing the new audio express website, and I have run into a small problem. They want their ad to autoplay on their website with an audio on/off switch on the header. I have done all that. Now the problem is that it starts over every time the user clicks another page.

I am trying to figure out if there is a way (like with frames) to have the header not change, but have the rest of the page change. If anyone can think of another way to keep the audio from replaying every time a page loads, that would be great as well.
