[resolved] How do I stop emails from going out? (9 posts)

    This is a great plugin, very easy to setup and I love how it shows you a list of subscribers. The only thing I can't get it to do is Not send emails.
    I don't want the plugin to send automatic emails. I want to be able to write the emails and send those emails on my time, but these are my only options:
    Send Emails:
    For each Post
    Every 15 minutes
    Once Hourly
    Twice Daily
    Once Daily
    Weekly
    Once Fortnightly
    Once Monthly

    Options? Work arounds?

    @keeperbay,

    In Subscribe2->Settings under the Registered Users tab you need to exclude all categories and uncheck the box where it says "Allow registered users to subscribe to excluded categories?".

    That will essentially stop posts and pages from generating emails.

    So registered users doesn't mean those registered on my sit, but it means those who have subscribed?

    @keeperbay,

    Subscribe2 handles 2 different types of Subscribers; Public and Registered. For an explanation of the difference please see the FAQs under the heading "I'm confused, what are all the different types of subscriber?".

    Ok, got busy and I'm just getting back to this now.
    How do I turn it off so it will not send automatic emails ever to anyone?

    I don't have any registered users, so turning it off for registered users isn't going to help. I need to turn it off so it doesn't send any scheduled emails.

    I only want it to collect the email address and I will write the emails and send them when I want them sent.

    I don't want it to send a scheduled email to any one ever. How do I do that?

    @keeperbay,

    That's not really the point of the plugin however this could be achieved by excluding all categories in the Subscribe2->Settings page in the Registered Users tab, also make sure there are no compulsory categories in that same page.

    So nothing is checked in Compulsory Categories and nothing is checked in Excluded Categories so now Public subscribers will never receive and email?

    Disregard. I replaced the plugin with something else where I have more control. I've lost to many subscribers to this plugin, sorry.

    That's not what I said though is it? I said check EVERYTHING in the Excluded categories.
